Mosaic Intercultural Experiences LLC
(Mosaicex) is privately owned, fully insured company that endeavors to
promote global harmony through generational and cultural
experiences. One
such experience is our exchange program done in conjunction with
Vaughan Systems, one of the most respected English training schools in
Spain.
Our
goal with this program is to expand cultural understanding and language
development through relationships between students and families.
To this end we hope that students will participate in a
true exchange. However, if a
student wishes to host but is unable to travel we will allow them to do
so. Also
if a student is unable to stay for the whole time of the exchange
program they may opt to stay only for the touring portion of the
program.
Mosaicex
and Vaughan Systems share the philosophy of language learning through
immersion in the culture and target language usage with natives on a
daily basis. To accomplish this we
believe that it is necessary to prevent extended interaction between
the students traveling overseas. We
work with many families from a variety of different schools and cities
in the country being visited. We
have found that students are best served when the traveling students
are separated and focused on their host family and school.
It is important to gain a historical perspective of the
country. Thus Mosaicex is offering
a brief tour of several historical sites before the American students
join their Spanish families.

A representative from
Mosaicex will be traveling to Madrid with the students from Cleveland.
There
they will meet other students who began their journey in France. The
group will travel to the south of Spain and see exciting sites in
Granada and Seville. Upon their
return to Madrid, students participating in the family stays will meet
their families. Students who are
staying outside of the Madrid area will travel to their prospective
cities. Those staying in Madrid
will participate in day trips to visit the city and surrounding area.
There will be a Mosaicex representative available to the
students 24 hours a day during their stay.
Individual Travel Insurance is required and purchased through a company called Travel Guard. This is a company that has been recommended by our travel agent. They are a well-established company that for many years has offered insurance to students and adults participating in this type of program. The insurance covers medical needs, trip cancellation, and loss or damage to luggage. This is included in the cost of the program.
It is wonderful that you are considering participating in the Spring/Summer 2007 Mosaicex exchange program. You will be joining with students and teachers from other northeastern Ohio schools and from several schools in Spain in a time of cultural growth.
